Another knowledgeable organisation combining conferences with business development is SharedServicesLink. In the added article Susie West is telling her view on global e-invoicing progress. One clever thing she stresses is the knowledge about involving and motivating suppliers into looking at e-invoicing.
I want more of that talk! About controlling customer invoices, payments and being proactive rather that reactive when a customer knocks on the door wanting e-invoices.
And where is the internal process and procurement? If there is one thing missing – it is the view on invoices as the second last transaction made in a p2p process… And – where is the talk about the invoice not even being necessary as a legal document? If you made an order and recieved the goods – you have to pay! An invoice or not. So why not focus on the order – approving the order and matchning the invoice with the order? Of course this is nothing new – but lets talk more about it.
