What we do like about for instance Spend Matters is that they clearly separate direct and indirect spend when predicting the future. In our belief not doing so might kill any good intentions from any organisation since the internal focus still is (and should be) very different when it comes to raw materials on one hand and..pens on the other. It seems cost cutting is always the number one drive but after that strategies sometimes go bananas talking about indirect spend as well as transactional efficiency and supplier consolidation and onboarding.
