How prepared are companies to internalize external effects?
For the past two years EBG | Network have listened in to numerous conferences focusing on ESG and sustainability development. None have brought up the huge challenge (and opportunity) procurement and the supply chain is.
It seem clear companies at large do not know what existing and upcoming legislation will mean. Such as internalizing external effects.
EBG know procurement know, Because procurement know how hard it is to gain control even over tier 1 suppliers, not to mention down nTier and multiple layers of insights.
Therefor EBG are really glad to have so many great discussions, panel and workshops focusing on how procurement can make sure it sits in the drivers seat ensuring companies not only comply but enable innovation and development through their supplier networks.

Competences, processes and insights
Sustainability place procurement in the heart of corporate development. For years procurement professionals have struggled to convince stakeholders to understand their impact when buying goods and services (in indirect spend). Procurement have known that being able to tell granular details about nTier suppliers is a true challenge.
Sustainability discussions enable proper discussions about who the people are and will be to gain the insights needed. To create the data sets needed to make informed decisions. To have the processes and structures to not get stuck in analysis paralysis but get and use good enough data to move ahead.
