EBG welcomes Sievo to CPO Outlook 2026 as an Expert Organisation, 14–15 October at Hotel Birger Jarl in Stockholm. Founded in Helsinki in 2003, they have spent two decades on the least glamorous part of procurement technology: making spend data trustworthy enough to act on.
The thesis before the welcome: a saving identified is not a saving delivered, and an insight is only as good as the data underneath it. Both gaps become harder to ignore as procurement hands more decisions to software.
What Sievo does
- Procurement analytics for large enterprises, built in Helsinki since 2003, with offices in Helsinki, Chicago, London and Bucharest.
- Opened a Paris office on 8 September 2026, following a recent London opening, and appointed Manuel Roger as Managing Director for South Europe, covering France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the French-speaking regions of Switzerland and Belgium.
- Products span spend analytics, contract and PO analytics, market benchmarking and supplier risk analytics, alongside CO2 and sustainability analytics, initiative management, and direct materials budgeting and forecasting.
- Acquired Provalido, a UK procurement performance management company founded in 2013, in January 2026. Founder Paul Gurr became Managing Director of Sievo’s UK business, and Sievo opened a permanent UK office.
- Recognised in The Hackett Group’s Spring 2026 SolutionMap, an assessment spanning 118 vendors, with Top Tech scores for spend analytics and for carbon management, and a customer value distinction for spend analytics.
So what — for you, on a Monday morning
The acquisition is aimed at a gap most functions will recognise. Savings get identified, reported and celebrated, and a portion of them never reaches the bottom line, with the reasons rarely captured anywhere. Sammeli Sammalkorpi, chief executive and co-founder, describes the intent as moving procurement organisations from insight to impact. Provalido’s software exists to plan, manage and report cost-reduction activity outside spreadsheets.
The Hackett recognition is worth reading for its method rather than its trophy. Assessments run on more than 500 functional criteria, mandatory demonstrations and anonymised, verified customer ratings. Their analyst Carina Kuhl makes a point worth repeating on a page listing nine technology partners: build-or-buy decisions are increasingly driven by AI claims that are hard to verify, and independent assessment is one of the few ways to separate demonstrated capability from marketing narrative.
Sammalkorpi’s own reading of where the field is heading is that procurement analytics is becoming “less about dashboards and charts and more about the quality of data” and intelligence underneath them, and about the outcomes those enable.
The Paris announcement puts the same idea in plainer terms. Sievo now describe what they supply as procurement intelligence for procurement teams, for AI agents, and for the technology stacks those teams run. That is a different proposition from a reporting tool, and it points at something worth arguing about in Stockholm. If more decisions are prepared, or taken, by software, the layer that determines whether the output can be trusted sits underneath the interface entirely. What that should change about investment priorities, and in what order, is an open question rather than a settled one.
The practical question for Stockholm: of the savings your function identified last year, what share reached the profit and loss account?

About CPO Outlook 2026
CPO Outlook is EBG | Network’s Nordic summit for procurement leaders, run since 2010. The premise is straightforward: ask senior practitioners what they most need to discuss, then build the days around the answers. Peer and expert exchange comes before a stage and an audience. That means roundtable discussions, peer labs, working sessions and keynotes, with the peer sessions practitioner-led throughout.
This year’s theme is From Strategy to Practice: Making Procurement Transformation Real. The summit runs 14–15 October at Hotel Birger Jarl in Stockholm. Day 1 closes on the first Nordic CPO of the Year Award. Day 2 is built around a working session on AI in procurement.
