Ask anyone and change management is on the top list of what is perceived the biggest challenge in any large organization. Why is it so hard to realize strategies? Strategies followed by policies, processes, organizational set up and systems – and still change rarely happen as it was meant to happen. And what good are strategies if they are not realized?
During Source to Pay Summit 2015 a few things became evident when it comes to the art of change. Most of the attending companies face a truly global environment however at the same time acting locally. All agree there is a need to manage change but few have the necessary tools to make it happen. Adding these facts together place many managers in a challenging position where value is left on the table.
In this interview we meet up with Pontus Wadström, PhD-Candidate, Strategy and Change at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and partner at A Real Movement. We ask him about why change management is so hard and how an organization should plan for strategic change.
