CPO Outlook 2024 | Volvo Group recap

👉 CPO Outlook 2024 Recap 👈

As you may know, EBG do not stream our summits due to their strong emphasis on face-to-face discussions in smaller, more intimate groups. With that in mind, here’s a brief summary based on my observations from the two days.

Day 1 | Keynote | Risk Management

Richard Clement | Head of Risk & Crisis Management, Karl Murgård | Business Intelligence & Governance Leader Crisis & Risk Management & Vikram Sharad Kulkarni | Tier-N Management Leader | Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing | Proactive Risk Management on a Global ScaleWho hasn’t wished for a crystal ball to predict the future? In supply chain and procurement, this desire has not only intensified but is now becoming more attainable. The multitude of risks that can disrupt production—ranging from natural disasters to capacity issues, financial instability of supply partners, and sustainability concerns—underscore the growing need for foresight and resilience.

Consider the complex web of supply chain tiers and supplier interactions. How many tiers can you map out, and what do you know about their individual potential to impact your delivery timelines? More importantly, how much of this can you anticipate and mitigate?

We learned from the integrated proactive risk identification and analysis work done – both internal and external. We learned how they work with dependency analysis down multiple tiers. How risk versus potential business impact is analyzed.

One key takeaway is that supply chain excellence is only achievable through deep collaboration and transparency across the entire network (and that it is becoming possible to achieve!).

A big thank you to Richard, Karl and Vikram as well as Prewave for bringing EBG | Network together with great minds. You were curious and open minded and we wish you the best of luck ahead!
