SSAB is a leader in high‑strength steels and a pioneer in sustainable steel production. The company emphasises that responsible sourcing is integrated into its purchasing and supply chain management; suppliers are evaluated on quality, delivery performance, cost and sustainability[1]. We’re delighted to welcome Lisa Lidén, Procurement Director of SSAB Special Steels, to CPO Outlook 2025. Lisa will share how SSAB is redefining responsible sourcing to deliver resilience and sustainability without sacrificing speed or efficiency.
From strategy to buyer insight
Responsible sourcing can’t remain a policy document – it needs to be embedded in day‑to‑day procurement. In her keynote “Responsible Sourcing in Action: From Strategy to Buyer Insight,” Lisa will explain how SSAB is:
- Starting with a clear ambition: becoming the benchmark in responsible sourcing within the steel industry.
- Recognizing the need for transparent, user‑friendly risk data, making insights accessible and actionable for buyers and category managers.
- Taking a step‑by‑step approach that supports everyday decisions rather than forcing a big‑bang overhaul.
- Embedding sustainability and supplier insights into sourcing, onboarding and contracting to drive compliance and value.
Lisa’s experience across international purchasing and supply chain development makes her a practical voice for those who want to move beyond compliance to real impact.
Why this matters now
Rising ESG regulations and stakeholder expectations mean procurement must integrate risk and sustainability considerations into every sourcing decision. SSAB’s journey shows that a pragmatic, data‑driven approach can turn responsible sourcing from a barrier into a competitive advantage.
If you’re seeking inspiration on how to make responsible sourcing work in practice – not just theory – this keynote is for you.

About CPO Outlook 2025
CPO Outlook 2025 is where Nordic procurement leaders, experts, and solution providers meet face‑to‑face to exchange experiences, challenge assumptions, and explore what’s actually working in procurement today. On October 15–16 in Stockholm we host 40+ interactive roundtable discussions, practical workshops, and keynotes from leaders at companies such as Electrolux, Estée Lauder, Scania, Equinor, Länsförsäkringar, Handelsbanken, NCC, SSAB, and Orion.
Unlike most conferences, CPO Outlook is built for depth — not overload. You choose your own agenda; each discussion is designed for real peer exchange; sessions run twice to allow different perspectives; topics span AI and GenAI, supplier risk, ESG, operating models, SRM, and indirect spend — reflecting the real pressures procurement is under. Seats are strictly limited to ensure meaningful dialogue, so every conversation can go deeper than it would in a large hall or a webinar.
