Source to Pay SummitGathering different type professionals in a room – real or virtual – and allowing the group to share experiences is what EBG is all about. At Source to Pay Summit 2015 Andreas Bivall at Boliden moderated Theme Discussions about transforming procurement and below is a recorded summary interview about what was said.

Next Source to Pay Summit will be held April 20-21st in Stockholm – do mark your calendars!

What is procurement transformation? Looking at at maturity model procurement tend to develop in a certain way. It depends on what your company need and want. If excellent operative procurement is number one you may not get too far trying to develop further neither should you perhaps even try.

What is needed and what do you have to do? Taking the first step from a transactional approach might be about looking at the competences – do you have the skills needed.

Looking further? Finding ways to work cross functional and together with stakeholders is key as is looking at category management. Then skills will not only be about pushing prices then it is about driving change projects.

It’s not that tricky Andreas Bivall argue. The challenge is in making change happen.
