Fredrik Rydqvist, Presales Solutions Consultant at Medius will share his insights. He helps organizations unlock the strategic potential of their AP and spend management data. He works daily with finance and procurement teams navigating the shift from transactional processing to intelligence-driven supplier management.

What we will cover:

  • How you can transform AP data into intelligence Discover which signals are hiding in your invoice and payment data – from early warnings of financial distress to how machine learning trained on your transactions can surface insights no human could spot at scale.
  • What risks can be detected in AP that traditional procurement misses Learn how you can catch communication shifts, pricing drift, and behavioural anomalies across your supplier base – before they escalate.
  • To what extent conversational AI can reduce operational burden Find out how AI agents handle routine supplier inquiries while transforming noise into actionable relationship intelligence.
  • Which procurement use cases benefit from AP-generated insights See applications that provide insights, influence sourcing strategy and improve contract renewals.
  • How leading organizations are restructuring finance-procurement partnerships Understand the new operating model where finance owns transactions, procurement receives curated insights, and AI surfaces exceptions requiring human judgement.

All who register will receive the slides and recording.

Welcome! EBG | Network & Medius

Why this topic matters now

In most organizations, finance and procurement operate in separate systems – leading to discrepancies in how spend is recorded, analyzed, and acted upon. According to Spend Matters, this creates “gaps in reporting, duplicate data entries, and a lack of a single source of truth” – leaving financial planning and procurement performance reviews based on partial or conflicting information.

The numbers behind this disconnect are striking. The average enterprise now collects data from 400 different sources, with data growth surging at 63% per month. Yet much of this intelligence remains siloed across functions and systems – with procurement teams often resorting to Excel spreadsheets and email to collaborate with key stakeholders.

Meanwhile, AI adoption in accounts payable is accelerating rapidly. IBM research shows 56% of organizations are already using AI for accounts payable processes, with early adopters expecting a 12% improvement in overall ROI, 20% productivity gains, and 14% operational efficiency increases.

The opportunity isn’t just about automating invoice processing – it’s about recognizing that AP systems witness supplier behaviour in real-time. Every late payment request, every invoice dispute, every documentation gap tells a story about supplier health that procurement typically doesn’t hear until months later – if at all.

The question isn’t whether finance and procurement should share supplier intelligence. It’s how to make it happen practically – and that’s what this session will explore.
